An interactive online crime map for Nottinghamshire has been launched. The website allows people to enter their postcode or area name to find the latest crime statistics for their neighbourhood. Visitors to the site, which uses highly-detailed Ordnance Survey maps, can view the number of crimes per 1,000 population and actual crime numbers. Comparisons can also be made with the previous years' figures. Updated monthly, the statistics show the total number of crimes and can then be broken down into robbery, burglary, vehicle crime, violence and anti-social behaviour. Details of policing priorities for each area and current initiatives are also featured. They will also be able to email members of their neighbourhood policing team to ask specific questions about on-going investigations and to pass on information about crime and anti-social behaviour.
